vermont's favorite shoe store
At Danform Shoes, Vermont's Favorite Shoe store, we're devoted to providing first-class service and an extensive selection of comfort driven, stylish footwear.
The Danform Difference
A good fit is at the core of every Danform decision. Shoes that fit you well represent more than just comfort; they can provide a path to better posture, more energy in your step and general wellness. A bad fit can cause not only discomfort, but foot, hip and back problems.
Visit any of our four locations where our friendly and experienced staff will help you understand the differences of how certain shoes fit, as well as run an Aetrex Foot Analysis or even customize your fit with orthotics.
Whether you shop local or browse our online store, we'll use the trade secrets we've learned in 40 years of business to help you find your perfect pair!
Shoes that fit well and look great for the whole family
Our customers run the gamut from toddlers taking their first steps to tweens making their seasonal Birkenstock buy to seniors needing traction footwear to stay safe in the winter. While fit is the cornerstone of our success, following trends is a passion as well. Style and substance is everywhere in our vast selection. You won’t find low-quality shoes - your foot health is too important to sacrifice - but you’ll always find value.
Look No Further For hard to find sizes
With literally thousands of shoes in stock, Danform Shoes is here for customers with wide feet, flat feet, tiny feet, large feet and everything in between.
Back in 1978, Dave Bailey and Dave Deforge started making wooden bottom clogs at the factory in Colchester. They sold them wholesale to retail shoe stores all over New England, and started selling the seconds (slightly imperfect) in the front area of the Colchester store. Gradually, they added lines of shoes from other vendors to their own retail presence.
Today, with four stores in Northern Vermont, Danform Shoes is the local place to go for great service, great quality and great value. Always practicing their philosophy, “we want a new customer to be a customer for life,” you can see why their base is 20,000 customers strong, and growing.
Danform Shoes started as a clog shop at its current Colchester location.
Helen joined the company as the bookkeeper.
The Shelburne Road store opens.
Dave went on the road as a sales rep for several different Canadian boot companies.
The St. Albans store was purchased.
Adams Shoes and Boots was purchased from John Adams who continued to work in the store until he passed away. A beautiful plaque in his honor is located on the outside of the downtown Burlington store.
Danform Shoes has four successful locations. Over four years, the shoes have changed but Dave and Helen's philosophy - helping our customers find the best shoes at the best prices in a comfortable atmosphere remains the same.
